On September 29, 2026, TobynJacobs posted a clip of Steve, hotbar, hunger bar and diamond sword included, standing in front of Elden Ring bosses. It passed six million views within a day and became the face of the AI merge games trend.
Is it real?
The footage is real gameplay, but the original project has not been released. There is no download, no release date and no public code. The creator described it as running on a Mac with around 1,600 Minecraft items. Nobody outside the project has been able to verify those wider claims. Treat any “Minecraft Elden Ring mod download” page claiming to host the original as fake.
What you can play instead
Two open-source projects were built in the days after the clip, both crediting the idea:
- Minecraft Ring: a Windows bridge that runs real Minecraft movement, building and combat inside Elden Ring. Source only, you build it yourself.
- Minecraft Crossover Bridge, the Mac route: Minecraft inside Elden Ring or Monster Hunter: World on Apple Silicon through CrossOver.
If you would rather play a finished release today, Mario in Elden Ring has downloadable builds.
Watch out for fake downloads
Within a week, GitHub filled up with keyword-stuffed repositories named some variation of “Elden Ring Minecraft mod”. Some are harmless experiments; some exist only to catch search traffic. Only download from a creator’s own repository, never run an .exe from an account created the same week, and check that the project’s README explains what it does and what you need to own.
