Pick any of your living units in Warcraft III, press F6, and you are looking down the sights of an AK in first person. Warcraft still runs the world, enemies, quests and health; Counter-Strike supplies the movement, guns, recoil and sounds.
How it works
Rather than running Counter-Strike alongside Warcraft, the mod re-creates CS 1.6’s movement and weapon behaviour inside Warcraft III and imports the models and sounds from your own CS install. We class that as a mechanics port. Warcraft’s own rules still apply: stuns, roots and slows limit what you can do in FPS mode, and allies take half damage.
What you need
- Windows x64 and Warcraft III 1.26a (x86). Reforged and other patches are not supported.
- Counter-Strike 1.6 installed, with loose files in
cstrike/modelsandcstrike/sound. - Disk space for a separate copy of Warcraft. The mod never changes your original install.
Install in short
- Download
WarcraftCSLauncher.exefrom the official GitHub releases. - Point it at your Warcraft III folder and your
cstrikefolder, and choose an install folder. - Agree to the dependency download, click Install / Update (Player), then Play.
- In a custom game or campaign, select your own unit and press F6.
Good to know
It is an early prototype and single-player only. The launcher is unsigned, so Windows may warn you. That is one more reason to only download it from the creator’s own release page.
