ArkWeb puts Insomniac’s Spider-Man into Rocksteady’s Gotham. You control Spider-Man’s real traversal (swinging, wall running, wall crawling and point launches) while looking at Arkham Knight’s city.
How it works
Both games run at the same time. Gotham’s building collision is streamed into Spider-Man’s physics world, Spider-Man’s rendered frame is cut out and drawn into Arkham Knight where Batman would be, and Batman follows along as a hidden puppet. When a fight starts, Arkham Knight’s own freeflow combat takes over and Spider-Man copies Batman’s pose. It is a live bridge modelled on SkyCraft’s design.
What you need
- Windows 10 x64 and a PC strong enough to run both games at once.
- Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered version 4.0630 on Steam. Other builds refuse to hook.
- Batman: Arkham Knight on Steam.
- An Xbox-style controller.
- Build tools: Visual Studio 2019 Build Tools, the Windows 10 SDK and Python 3.12 with a few packages.
Setup: the AI-guided route
There is no ready-made download; you build it yourself. The creator offers an unusual shortcut: open the Claude desktop app’s Code tab in an empty folder and ask it to download the repository and follow its AGENTS.md. The agent checks your game versions, installs the build tools, compiles the mod, backs up your Arkham Knight save and talks you through the first session. Claude Code needs a paid Claude plan; other coding agents can follow the same guide.
Known issues
Thin spires can be swung through, flying fast into an unloaded district can leave gaps for a few seconds, Spider-Man can look dark because his lighting comes from New York’s time of day, and hands are not copied in combat. Arkham autosaves follow Batman, so do not leave Spider-Man under the map.
